The 2024 Paris Olympics have officially concluded, marked by a stunning performance from French artist Yseult that brought the vibrant event to a close.

The closing ceremony on August 11 briefly transported viewers to Venice Beach, California, where Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Billie Eilish offered a preview of the excitement to come at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. The Summer Games concluded with the traditional extinguishing of the Olympic flame, signaling the end of the event.

French gold medalist swimmer Léon Marchand was given the honor of extinguishing the flame, paving the way for Yseult's final performance of the evening—a soulful rendition of Frank Sinatra's iconic "My Way."

As NBC’s Mike Tirico explained during the broadcast, "My Way" was originally composed by French musicians—Jacques Revaux, Gilles Thibaut, and Claude François—before Paul Anka acquired the rights and penned the English lyrics that Sinatra made famous.

In the closing moments of the Summer Games, Yseult delivered a powerful and emotional interpretation of the classic song, captivating the audience with her haunting vocals. The 29-year-old artist, who gained recognition as the runner-up on the French version of “American Idol” in 2014 and has since released four albums, appeared on stage in a striking all-black custom Dior ensemble, complete with a matching hat and gloves, as she began singing the opening lines.

As the song progressed, Yseult moved gracefully across the stage, hitting each grand note with precision. As she held the final note, a spectacular display of fireworks lit up the night sky.

“Yes, it was my way,” she sang, gazing at the fireworks above.

In an interview with Vogue published on August 11, Yseult expressed her deep emotions and pride in being part of such a significant moment.

“I’m proud of myself and my team,” she said. “It’s an incredible honor to perform in my home country, surrounded by such amazing people.”

Later, the same user followed up with, “For those who don’t know (like I didn’t), the singer is Yseult. I’m now officially a fan.”

Many were thrilled to see the French artist gaining recognition on a global stage.

One fan exclaimed, “Everyone needs to know about this French icon named Yseult—her voice is absolutely unreal.”

Yseult’s recent single, a collaboration with artists Sevdaliza and Pablo Vittar titled “Alibi,” recently debuted at No. 95 on the Billboard Hot 100, as she celebrated on Instagram on August 2. She also teased her upcoming release, “Mental,” which is set to drop on September 20.
