Donald Trump Jr. joined the outcry against the Paris Olympic Games' opening ceremony, criticizing a segment featuring drag queens styled after da Vinci's “The Last Supper.”

“It’s disappointing to see an event that once inspired national pride now evoke indifference at best,” Trump Jr. posted on X, previously known as Twitter, showing a newfound interest in Renaissance art. “Using the games to push a woke agenda has nothing to do with what the Olympics represent.”

Trump Jr. labeled the scene as “seemingly satanic” and reiterated a dubious claim that his late mother was an Olympian. In 1988, Ivana Trump claimed she was an alternate for the Czechoslovakia ski team at the 1972 Grenoble Olympics, a statement later refuted by the Czech Olympic Committee.

His comments echoed the sentiments of many app users, including Elon Musk, who warned that without more bravery to uphold fairness, Christianity might decline.

Kansas City Chiefs’ kicker and devout Catholic Harrison Butker also voiced his disapproval, quoting a verse from Galatians.

“Man-o-sphere” influencer and conspiracy theorist Andrew Tate added to the criticism, asserting the tableau demonstrated that “Satanists control the West and openly worship the devil.”

Phrases like “Disgusting” and “Sodom and Gomorrah” trended on the app following the ceremony.

The Olympic Committee responded to the backlash, clarifying that the performance was an interpretation of the Greek God Dionysus meant to highlight the absurdity of violence among humans.
