On July 17, an alleged stalker was apprehended in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, before Taylor Swift's Eras Tour show. The individual had reportedly made threats against the pop star and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce. Ed Kelce, father of the Kansas City Chiefs' tight end, responded boldly to the incident.
On July 22, Ed, affectionately called "Papa Kelce," posted a news article about the arrest on Facebook with the caption, "Love to know who this some-b---- is."
The post quickly gained attention on social media, with one user on X stating, "ed kelce the icon, the legend that you are." Another user wrote, "PROTECT ED KELCE AT ALL COSTS," while a third added, "He is already so protective of his future Daughter In Law."
Others humorously suggested, "He’s going to get to the bottom of Taylor’s stalking issues," and "Add Ed to her security team STAT." One enthusiastic comment read, "ICONIC behavior!!!!"
According to the Associated Press on July 18, the alleged stalker, an American man, was detained after event organizers provided tips. The suspect had a ticket to Swift's concert at Veltins-Arena on July 17 and had made threats on social media against Swift and Kelce. He was ordered to remain in detention until the weekend following Swift's final show in Gelsenkirchen.
Swift is scheduled to perform next in Hamburg on July 23 and 24, followed by two shows in Munich on July 27 and 28. She will conclude her Eras Tour in Vancouver in December.
